Sri Chaitanya Students Attacked in the Name of Ragging

A Class 10 student from Kamareddy, identified as Abhishek, was allegedly assaulted by 12 fellow students at the hostel of Sri Chaitanya High School in Dammaiguda, Medchal–Malkajgiri district. According to his parents, the students allegedly attacked him with sticks and plates and stepped on his face with shoes. The school management reportedly informed the family that Abhishek had fallen down the stairs.

The parents said they immediately took their son home after receiving the call and later admitted him to a hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment in serious condition. Abhishek reportedly told his parents that senior students attacked him in the name of ragging, following which they approached the police. The family has demanded strict action against those allegedly involved in the assault and the school management if it failed to properly report or address the incident.
