Speed Up Old City Metro Works, Start Tender Process Soon: CM Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to accelerate the development of the Old City Metro corridor under Hyderabad Metro Phase-II and initiate the tender process at the earliest. During a review meeting on Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the Chief Minister instructed officials to complete the road-widening works along the 7.5-km stretch between MGBS and Chandrayangutta as quickly as possible. He also called for expediting pending land acquisition required for the metro expansion.

With passenger traffic on Hyderabad Metro increasing steadily, the Chief Minister directed officials to take measures to accommodate the growing demand. He asked authorities to procure additional metro coaches and explore the possibility of adding more coaches to existing trains. For the MGBS–Chandrayangutta corridor, he also suggested consulting Delhi Metro on the latest technology and obtaining the necessary technical advice. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, government advisers Ramakrishna Rao and NVS Reddy, HMRL Managing Director Sarfaraz Ahmed, Additional MD Ajit Reddy and other senior officials.
