Special Vanamahotsavam Held Grandly Across Telangana

A special Vanamahotsavam programme was conducted across Telangana on Tuesday with active participation from forest officials, public representatives, students and people from various sections. Forest Department Head of Forest Force (HoFF) Vinay Kumar planted saplings along with students of the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential School in Mankhal Range. He said the state government aims to complete the Vanamahotsavam programme, launched by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in June, by the last week of September.

As part of the special plantation drive, the state has set a target of planting around 10 lakh saplings in a single day. Vinay Kumar said special programmes were organised in all districts in coordination with collectors, forest officials and public representatives. He urged everyone to plant and protect at least one sapling, stressing that tree plantation is a collective responsibility. He also encouraged students to plant and nurture a sapling on their birthdays. CCF Priyanka Varghese, Rangareddy DFO Shiv Ashish Singh, Additional Collector Chandra Reddy and other officials participated in the programme.
