The Election Commission will begin a special drive in Andhra Pradesh from today as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door verification of voters whose names were deleted or who were declared ineligible during the SIR exercise. The officials will verify the details at the field level and assess the eligibility of the concerned voters.
If the verification finds that a voter’s name was deleted by mistake, BLOs will assist the voter in submitting Form-6. The same form will also be used to apply for fresh voter registration. The special drive is aimed at ensuring that eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls following the verification process.
