Special Arrangements for Antya Pushkaralu in Telangana for the First Time

The Saraswati Antya Pushkaralu have commenced with great grandeur. On Thursday morning, Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham pontiff Jagadguru Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamy, along with ministers Sridhar Babu and Konda Surekha, formally inaugurated the sacred event. The state government has made extensive arrangements to accommodate the large number of devotees expected to attend. Special measures such as large tents, coolers, and over 300 temporary changing rooms have been set up to ensure comfort amid the summer heat. Safety measures, including restricted zones in the river, have also been implemented. Daily evening harathi rituals will be performed until June 1.

Officials anticipate a massive turnout of devotees not only from the Telugu states but also from Odisha, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. Kaleshwaram is considered a significant spiritual site where the Saraswati River is believed to flow as an underground stream along with the Pranahita and Godavari rivers. Apart from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Kaleshwaram is regarded as another important location associated with the Saraswati River. Conducting Antya Pushkaralu for the first time in Telangana with such prominence is noteworthy. Scholars state that rituals like holy bathing and offering prayers to ancestors during Antya Pushkaralu yield spiritual benefits similar to those of Adi Pushkaralu.
