Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the spirit of cooperative federalism lies in resolving Centre-State issues amicably and implementing decisions swiftly. Addressing the 31st Southern Zonal Council meeting held at Mahabalipuram, he said the true test of a federal system is its ability to find fair and effective solutions even when the interests of different states differ. He stressed that strong institutions should coordinate diverse interests in a lawful and efficient manner.
Bhatti Vikramarka said competition among states for investments, industries, employment and talent is natural, but rivers, power grids, workers and businesses do not stop at state borders. He said the importance of institutions such as the Southern Zonal Council has increased amid growing interdependence among states. He also announced that Telangana is ready to host the 32nd Southern Zonal Council meeting in Hyderabad and called for permanent solutions to inter-state issues through dialogue.
