Sonu Sood Steps In to Help Nepal Flood Victims

Actor Sonu Sood, who earned widespread appreciation for helping migrant workers during the COVID-19 lockdown, has now stepped forward to support victims of the devastating floods in Nepal. He travelled to Kathmandu with essential supplies and relief materials and is participating in relief efforts. Sharing his experience on social media, Sood said seeing children at rehabilitation centres was heartbreaking, as many had lost their parents or were separated from their families in the floods. He recalled meeting eight-year-old Christina at one such centre. The little girl, who was with her younger brother, smiled at him and said, “Everything will be fine.” Sood said her words deeply moved him and that he felt an overwhelming desire to adopt her, while also acknowledging the helplessness of the situation.

Sood urged people to extend whatever support they could to families affected by the disaster. He said those living in safe places should consider themselves fortunate and spare some time or contribute whatever they can to help the victims. He stressed that helping people during such disasters should not be viewed as the responsibility of governments and ministers alone, but as a collective responsibility. “They have lost their homes, families and beautiful childhoods. Let us come together and give them a new life. Nepal, you are not alone,” Sood wrote on Instagram.
