Soil Tests Conducted at Polavaram Project

A team from the Central Soil and Materials Research Station (CSMRS) conducted the second day of tests at the Polavaram Project on Wednesday. The inspection will continue on Thursday as part of ongoing quality assessment work at the project site.

The experts, including Siddharth P. Hedu, Shri Hari T. Nair, and Gaurav Pandey, carried out 14 tests in the Gap 2 area. They examined soil moisture levels, strength, and the quality of rock and earth materials used in construction. The scientists noted that continuous testing is essential during the construction of the earth cum rock fill dam to ensure structural stability at every stage.
