Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said fertilizer distribution during the Kharif 2026 season was carried out smoothly across the state through advance stocking, faster transportation and digital monitoring. The government positioned fertilizer stocks in advance to prevent shortages, coordinated with the Centre to expedite shipments and deployed officials at shipyards to ensure timely movement of imported fertilizers. The Fertilizer App was also used to monitor stocks, bookings and purchases and improve transparency in distribution.
The minister said 33.39 lakh farmers registered through the Fertilizer App, booking 142.08 lakh bags, of which 128.18 lakh bags had been purchased. Through the Centre’s Fertilizer Facilitation System, 37.48 lakh QR codes were generated and 141.88 lakh bags were booked, with farmers purchasing 104.99 lakh bags. Telangana currently has 2.33 lakh metric tonnes of urea in stock, along with DAP, complex fertilizers, MOP and SSP. The state has also planned supplies of 2 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 30,000 metric tonnes of DAP for October.
