The protest by students and job aspirants over issues related to BPSC examinations turned tense in Patna on Tuesday. Demonstrators attempted to move towards the Chief Minister’s residence and clashed with police after trying to cross barricades. Police used water cannons and resorted to lathi-charge, with several protesters and police personnel reportedly injured. Amid the tension, six-year-old Aditya from Punaichak drew attention by participating in the protest. Speaking to the media, he called for Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary’s resignation and action against those who ordered the lathi-charge.
Aditya said he was exercising his rights as a citizen concerned about his future, making him a notable presence at the protest. Reports later circulated that police had arrested the child, prompting an official clarification. Police said Aditya was not arrested but was briefly taken to the police station for his safety amid the tense situation. After counselling, he was handed over to his mother. As Aditya was brought out of the station, protesters raised slogans referring to him as ‘Gen Alpha’.
