SIT Records Statement of Retired IPS Officer A.B. Venkateswara Rao in Phone Tapping Case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged phone tapping case has recorded the statement of retired Andhra Pradesh IPS officer and former Intelligence Chief A.B. Venkateswara Rao. Officials questioned him as a witness, making him the first bureaucrat from another state to be examined in the ongoing investigation.

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly accessed Venkateswara Rao's call data records during 2023. The SIT is gathering evidence and witness statements to establish the sequence of events and determine the extent of the alleged phone surveillance. The investigation is continuing.
