The Special Investigation Team (SIT) continued its inquiry for the second consecutive day into alleged irregularities in liquor transportation tenders in Andhra Pradesh. Karumuri Sunil Kumar, who is lodged at Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad, was questioned for approximately four hours by officials from the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) and the SIT. According to reports, the investigators sought details regarding alleged violations of tender norms and examined who was responsible for key decisions in the allocation process. They also sought to establish the roles of individuals involved in the tendering process.
The investigators reportedly questioned Sunil Kumar about allegations of undisclosed financial transactions linked to the tender process. They are examining who may have benefited from the alleged irregularities and whether other individuals played a role in the decisions. The Vijayawada ACB Court had granted the SIT two days of custody to question Sunil Kumar. The investigation is continuing as officials seek further information regarding the alleged irregularities. The allegations remain under investigation, and no conclusions about individual culpability should be drawn before the legal process is completed.
