Sikkim Tunnel Tragedy...Death Toll Rises to 20

A tragic tunnel collapse at the NHPC Teesta Stage-VI Hydroelectric Project in Namchi district of Sikkim has claimed 20 lives. The under construction tunnel suddenly caved in, trapping several workers inside and triggering a large scale rescue operation.

According to Namchi Superintendent of Police, a total of 25 workers, including project officials, were trapped inside the tunnel. Authorities have confirmed that 20 people lost their lives in the accident, while rescue efforts are continuing to locate and save the remaining trapped workers.
