A shooting incident at the Islamic Center of San Diego in the United States left three people dead, including a security guard who attempted to stop the attackers. Two teenage suspects carried out the shooting and were later found dead with gunshot injuries near the mosque, according to police officials.
San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said the case is being investigated as a possible hate crime, though the motive is still unclear. Authorities noted that one suspect’s mother had earlier reported him missing and informed police about a vehicle and firearms taken by him. Officials also confirmed that all children at the mosque’s Al-Rasheed School, located within the complex, are safe. The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned the attack.
