The Central Government informed Parliament that the National Testing Agency (NTA) currently has 15 vacant permanent posts. Out of the 39 sanctioned permanent positions, only 24 have been filled. To ensure smooth functioning, the agency has appointed 73 personnel on a contractual basis and outsourced 124 posts for administrative and operational work.
The Minister of State for Education stated that the NTA conducted 126 examinations during 2026, including NEET-UG and several other national level entrance and recruitment exams. The statement also included details of the agency’s income, expenditure, and overall financial position, highlighting its operational expenses during the year.
