In a dramatic political development in Tamil Nadu, the Srinivasa Sethupathi from Tirupattur, who had won the election by a margin of just one vote, has suffered a setback in the Madras High Court. The court directed that he should not participate in the trust vote and restrained him from taking charge as an MLA for now.
The case was filed by DMK leader and rival candidate Periyakaruppan, who alleged irregularities in the counting of postal ballot votes. He requested the court to prevent Sethupathi from assuming office until the matter is resolved. Following the court’s order, the trust vote outcome is expected to see a reduction of one vote in favor of TVK leader Vijay, adding a new twist to the political scenario.
