Former MLA Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy staged a protest outside the Atmakur Municipal Office in Nandyal district, alleging that the caste certificate belonging to the YSRCP chairperson candidate had been torn. Accompanied by his supporters, he raised the issue at the office, prompting DSP Ramanji Naik to intervene and attempt to pacify the YSRCP leaders. Despite the police urging them to cooperate, tensions continued, and officers warned them to leave to prevent a law-and-order situation. The former MLA brought the matter to the attention of the District Collector and the local MLA, who reportedly assured him that the issue would be resolved.
Meanwhile, MP Byreddy Shabari staged a separate protest outside the Nandyal Municipal Office. She sat at the entrance and demanded that YSRCP leaders who had allegedly arrived to create trouble be sent away. The incidents led to tension outside both municipal offices, with police attempting to maintain order.
