Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that May 10 will be observed annually as “Marka-e-Haq Day.” He described Pakistan’s response to India’s Operation Sindoor last year as “Marka-e-Haq.” Speaking at an event marking one year since the conflict, he praised Pakistan’s armed forces for delivering a “historic response” to the enemy.
The statement comes after the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 Indians were killed, following which India launched Operation Sindoor targeting terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The resulting four-day conflict saw aerial strikes and counterattacks before military-level talks led to a ceasefire agreement on May 10. Sharif also appreciated U.S. President Donald Trump’s role in helping end the hostilities.
