Sharannavaratri is an important Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Durga, who is worshipped in nine forms collectively known as Navadurga. Each form represents a different aspect of divine feminine power. According to religious traditions, devotees worship these manifestations during the nine days of Navaratri, seeking courage, wisdom, peace, prosperity and spiritual growth. The nine forms are Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri.
Shailaputri represents strength and courage, while Brahmacharini symbolises penance, knowledge and devotion. Chandraghanta is associated with bravery, and Kushmanda is revered as the creative energy of the universe. Skandamata represents motherhood and compassion, while Katyayani symbolises courage and the destruction of evil. Kalaratri is worshipped as a powerful form that protects devotees from fear, and Mahagauri represents purity and auspiciousness. Siddhidatri, the ninth form, is believed to bestow spiritual accomplishments and blessings. According to Hindu beliefs, worshipping all nine forms with devotion brings inner strength, peace and prosperity.
