Security agencies have launched a major nationwide crackdown on the network allegedly linked to Pakistan-based gangster-turned-terror operative Shahzad Bhatti. Investigations have reportedly uncovered links to Hyderabad as well. In Medchal, police arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly came into contact with suspected associates of Bhatti through social media. Police said his phone contained Instagram reels, WhatsApp chats, call records and screenshots linked to the alleged communications.
Meanwhile, a large-scale operation against the Shahzad Bhatti Network across 14 states reportedly resulted in 253 arrests ahead of Independence Day. More than 80 FIRs were registered as part of the nationwide crackdown, according to reports. Telangana was also among the states covered in the operation, with two suspects reportedly arrested. However, specific evidence connecting Yousufguda in Hyderabad to the network could not be independently confirmed from the reliable sources currently available.
