Heavy rains and powerful winds have caused massive destruction across Uttar Pradesh over the past two days. Several trees were uprooted, electricity poles collapsed, and many houses were damaged due to the severe weather conditions. Officials confirmed that at least 60 people lost their lives, while hundreds sustained injuries in rain-related incidents. The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Districts including Prayagraj, Kanpur, Fatehpur, and Dehat witnessed extensive crop damage across thousands of acres, causing major losses to farmers.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that more thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are likely in several parts of the state over the next 48 hours. Authorities stated that electricity and communication systems have been severely affected due to the storm, and restoration work is currently underway. Officials have advised residents to remain alert and follow safety precautions as unstable weather conditions continue to pose a threat in multiple regions.
