Coastal Andhra Pradesh is expected to witness severe heatwave conditions until May 26, with authorities warning of extremely high temperatures across several districts. The weather department stated that intense hot winds are likely to continue for the next five days, especially in South Coastal Andhra.
Bapatla recorded temperatures 7.4 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average, highlighting the severity of the heat. Red alerts have been issued for eight districts in South Coastal Andhra, while six districts are under orange alert and three districts under yellow alert. Officials have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel during afternoon hours and stay hydrated.
