Security Reduced for Former Tamil Nadu CM Stalin

The security cover provided to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin has been downgraded from Z+ to Z following a periodic security review. Authorities assessed the threat perception, intelligence inputs and protection requirements before approving the change.

The revision has also reduced the number of security personnel assigned to Stalin. While some reports say the deployment has been cut from 58 to 33, other reports put the reduction at 54 to 34. The revised arrangement will continue to include pilot, escort, backup and close-protection vehicles during his travel and public engagements. Officials have described the move as part of a routine security rationalisation based on the latest assessment.
