SEC Intensifies Preparations for Local Elections

The State Election Commission (SEC) has intensified preparations for the conduct of local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. The State Election Commissioner is scheduled to hold a high-level video conference with district Collectors, Superintendents of Police and senior officials of relevant government departments at 11 am today to review election arrangements and the prevailing law and order situation.

The meeting is expected to cover the preparation of electoral rolls, identification of polling stations, deployment of election personnel and measures to ensure law and order. The SEC is also likely to issue necessary directions and guidelines to district administrations to ensure that the elections are conducted smoothly and peacefully.
