With the arrival of the Shravan month, festive celebrations have begun in Telugu households, bringing focus on the auspicious Varalakshmi Vratham observed by married women with devotion. Confusion prevailed among devotees regarding whether the vratam falls on August 21 or August 28 this year. Renowned Panchangam scholars have now clarified that, as per tradition, the vratam should be observed on the Friday preceding Shravan Purnima. Accordingly, August 28 has been identified as the correct date.
Although August 21 is also a Shravan Friday, scholars emphasize that the Friday closest to Purnima holds greater significance. However, those unable to perform the vratam on August 28 due to personal or health reasons may observe it on August 21 or any other Friday in Shravan. On August 28, auspicious timings include morning muhurtham from 06:23 AM to 08:40 AM, afternoon from 01:00 PM to 03:12 PM, and evening from 07:10 PM to 08:50 PM. Devotees are advised to perform Kalasha Sthapana and worship Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity, health, and well-being.
