The Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple in Kerala has reopened for devotees on the occasion of the Malayalam New Year and the auspicious Chingam month. Devotees were allowed to proceed to the hill shrine through designated queues from 5 am on Monday. Special poojas and abhishekams were performed under the leadership of chief priest Kandarar Brahmadattan. The Chingam monthly poojas are scheduled to continue until August 21.
Considering the expected rush of devotees, the Travancore Devaswom Board has made arrangements for darshan, including an online virtual queue booking facility. The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has also arranged special buses to facilitate the movement of pilgrims. After the Chingam monthly poojas conclude, the temple will reopen on August 24 for the Onam celebrations and remain open until August 28.
