Russian attacks on Ukraine have reportedly damaged facilities belonging to major American companies, according to international media reports. A Coca-Cola plant near Kyiv was reportedly destroyed in a Russian drone strike in early September. On September 25, an attack on a McDonald’s logistics warehouse in the Kyiv region disrupted supplies, forcing some restaurants to scale back operations. PepsiCo also reported damage to its production facility in Mykolaiv in August last year.
The attacks have sparked criticism of the Trump administration for not publicly condemning the damage to American businesses. Andy Hunder, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, said US companies were suffering significant losses in the country. He said there had been no response to a request for a meeting with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to discuss the attacks. Meanwhile, the White House said the United States continued its efforts to end the war and secure a peace agreement. However, the media report noted that there was no clear evidence that the facilities were specifically targeted because they were owned by American companies.
