The war between Russia and Ukraine continues to intensify as Moscow signaled the possibility of massive upcoming attacks on Kyiv. After launching a series of missile strikes and drone attacks, including the powerful Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile, Russia warned that key government buildings, defense industries, command centers, and drone manufacturing facilities linked to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could become major targets in the coming days. Russia also advised foreign diplomats and civilians to leave Kyiv immediately.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reportedly spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio over the phone and urged the evacuation of American diplomatic staff from Kyiv due to the possibility of intensified strikes. In an official statement, Russia’s Foreign Ministry warned diplomats, international organization staff, and foreign nationals to exit the city as soon as possible and advised civilians to stay away from military and administrative buildings. However, Ukraine has repeatedly rejected such warnings, stating that it will not bow to Russian threats.
