Russia launched another major drone and missile attack on Ukraine’s Kyiv region, targeting the city of Bila Tserkva early Sunday morning. According to Ukrainian officials, at least two civilians were killed and several others sustained serious injuries in the strike. Government buildings, residential complexes and schools reportedly suffered significant damage during the attack, intensifying tensions in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians and claimed that Moscow used its powerful “Oreshnik” hypersonic ballistic missile during the assault. The Oreshnik missile is considered one of Russia’s most advanced weapons systems, capable of travelling at speeds of nearly 13,000 kilometres per hour and carrying nuclear warheads. Reports suggest this is only the third time Russia has deployed the missile in the war, following previous strikes in Dnipro and western Ukraine.
