Russia Advances Toward Donbas as Ukraine War Escalates

Russian forces are advancing toward the key Donbas region in the ongoing war with Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers reported that Russian troops have entered the strategic city of Kostyantynivka, describing intense pressure as Moscow attempts to encircle the area. While Ukraine currently holds parts of the city, officials say control may not last long.

Meanwhile, both sides have intensified drone warfare. A Russian drone strike on the city of Sumy killed three members of a single family. Ukraine reported that Russia launched 88 long-range drones and a ballistic missile, most of which were intercepted. In response, Ukraine carried out large-scale drone attacks on Russian oil refineries and infrastructure. Airports in Moscow were temporarily shut amid the escalating strikes.
