Rosaiah Was the Embodiment of Political Values: Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh described former united Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and former Tamil Nadu Governor Konijeti Rosaiah as the human embodiment of political values and integrity. Speaking after unveiling Rosaiah’s bronze statue at Siripuram Circle in Visakhapatnam on Monday, Lokesh called him a “political school” and an inspiration for future generations. He recalled that whenever heated arguments took place between Chandrababu Naidu and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the Assembly, Rosaiah would often intervene and help calm the situation through his balanced approach.

Lokesh said efforts would be made to introduce a chapter on Rosaiah’s life, political values and public service in educational material. He also suggested including a special chapter in TDP cadre training and creating books and videos to take Rosaiah’s legacy to the younger generation. Lokesh proposed establishing a museum dedicated to Rosaiah and said that if suitable land was identified, it could be completed within 18 months and dedicated to the nation. Drawing a comparison with the Potti Sriramulu statue in Amaravati, known as the ‘Statue of Sacrifice’, he proposed naming Rosaiah’s statue in Visakhapatnam ‘The Statue of Statesman’. Several public representatives, Arya Vysya community leaders and members of Rosaiah’s family attended the event.
