Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the state government is working with the Centre to expedite the construction of the proposed airports at Warangal and Adilabad. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, he said discussions were held with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, who has assured support for the two projects. The Chief Minister stated that the government aims to complete both airports and inaugurate them on June 2, 2028.
Revanth Reddy noted that Telangana, with nearly 2.5% of India's population, contributes around 5% to the country's GDP, highlighting the need for world-class airport infrastructure to sustain future growth. He said the Warangal airport would showcase the rich Kakatiya heritage in its architectural design. Emphasising the spirit of cooperative federalism, he added that the state government would continue engaging with Union ministers during Parliament sessions to secure support for key development initiatives.
