Revanth Reddy Slams Centre Over NEET Protest Crackdown

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy condemned the alleged police action against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, stating that such incidents go against the spirit of the Constitution given by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Addressing a protest at the Ambedkar Chowrasta in Kodangal, he alleged that the NEET paper leak has put the future of students at risk and accused the BJP led governments of failing to protect students’ interests.

Revanth Reddy demanded action against those responsible for the NEET paper leak instead of targeting protesting students. He alleged that students, including women, faced police action during protests and said Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had staged a demonstration outside the Prime Minister’s residence in support of students. He stated that peaceful protests are a constitutional right in a democracy.

The Chief Minister also criticized the handling of earlier examination irregularities, referring to the 2019 Intermediate results controversy in Telangana. He said Congress would continue its fight for students and youth until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is removed from his post. He called upon people to unite and fight against the government.
