A. Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government is preparing to introduce major reforms in the fee reimbursement system, offering significant relief to students and educational institutions. The new policy is expected to come into effect from the 2026-27 academic year. Under the revised system, priority will be given to students who apply early for fee reimbursement benefits. The government is also planning to ensure that tuition fees are paid within the same academic year, addressing long-standing delays faced by students and colleges.
Officials said the government is likely to allocate nearly ₹2,300 crore to ₹2,400 crore for the implementation of the revised reimbursement and scholarship scheme. The new framework aims to bring greater transparency in scholarship distribution and streamline the entire payment process. Educational institutions and students are expected to benefit significantly from the timely release of funds, reducing financial stress and improving access to higher education across the state.
