Rescue operations are underway to trace six fishermen who went missing after their fishing boat capsized in the sea off the Andhra Pradesh coast. One fisherman, Karri Chinna, managed to save his life by swimming to a nearby commercial vessel. He was later airlifted by an Indian Navy helicopter to INS Dega and shifted to a hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that his condition is being closely monitored.
The Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Police have deployed helicopters, warships, and patrol vessels to expand the search operation. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is personally monitoring the rescue efforts and has directed officials to intensify the search within a 12-nautical-mile radius of the Gangavaram coast. Officials stated that rough seas and strong winds caused by a low-pressure system are posing significant challenges to the ongoing rescue mission.
