

Tirumala is witnessing a record influx of devotees during the third week of the Peratasi month. Thousands of devotees from Tamil Nadu and various parts of the country have arrived for Lord Venkateswara’s darshan. All compartments at the Vaikuntam Queue Complexes have been filled, with queues extending up to Shila Thoranam. Devotees without tokens are reportedly waiting for more than 20 hours for Sarva Darshan. As many as 5.72 lakh devotees had darshan from Sunday to Saturday, while 2.44 lakh devotees offered their hair. The temple hundi reportedly received Rs 32.66 crore, while around 30 lakh laddus were sold.
In view of the heavy rush, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has taken special measures to facilitate darshan for common devotees. VIP break darshan has been cancelled for October 5, Monday, while the exemption for protocol VIPs will continue. Traffic has also increased at the Alipiri toll gate, while accommodation in Tirumala is witnessing high demand. TTD is providing food, drinking water, milk and medical assistance to devotees waiting in queues. Officials have urged devotees to remain patient and cooperate with TTD personnel.
