Reconsider Polytechnic Education - Kadiyam Srihari

Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari said students have several concerns and apprehensions over GO 97 introduced by the Telangana government. He urged the government to retain polytechnic education under the engineering stream and not shift it to the Labour Department. He said skill-based training would help polytechnic students secure employment and suggested that Telangana follow the existing system implemented across the country.

Polytechnic students across Telangana have been protesting against the proposed merger of polytechnic education with the Skill University under the ‘Shakti’ scheme. Students have expressed concern that the government’s decision could affect their future and demanded the immediate withdrawal of GO 97. Opposition parties have also extended their support to the students. Against this backdrop, the state government has constituted a high-level committee headed by former MP K. Keshava Rao to examine the issue.
