Rayalaseema is set to emerge as a major hub for India’s defence sector with the launch of a prestigious fighter aircraft project in Puttaparthi, Sri Sathya Sai district. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will jointly lay the foundation stone for the project. The facility will be developed with an investment of nearly ₹15,803 crore across 650 acres and will focus on developing advanced stealth fighter aircraft and testing facilities.
Along with the main defence project, foundation stones will also be laid for 12 additional defence and drone related projects. These projects are expected to attract investments worth ₹4,145 crore and generate over 6,000 jobs. The government is also developing a major drone hub in Kurnool to strengthen India’s drone ecosystem. Large scale investments in Rayalaseema and Prakasam districts are expected to boost industrial growth in the region.
