Rapido Enters Hyderabad Food Delivery Market With Ownly App

Ride-hailing company Rapido has entered Hyderabad’s food delivery market with its Ownly platform. Hyderabad is the second city where Ownly is operational after Bengaluru, where the service was launched earlier this year following a pilot phase. The company is positioning Ownly around a restaurant-first, zero-commission model.

Under the model, partner restaurants do not pay a commission on orders. Customers are charged for the food and delivery, while Ownly says its approach is aimed at keeping pricing transparent. The service is available through the standalone Ownly app on iOS and Android and has also been integrated into the Rapido app. Rapido’s existing Captain network will handle food deliveries, giving riders an opportunity to take food orders alongside mobility services. The Hyderabad launch was marked by a biryani event for Rapido Captains, which was attended by actor Nani.
