Unexpected heavy rainfall in Bayyaram mandal headquarters of Mahabubabad district has brought relief to farmers struggling to protect their crops. With concerns over El Niño, electricity-related difficulties and a lack of water in wells and borewells, farmers had been facing challenges in irrigating their fields. Several crops were reportedly drying up due to the shortage of water.
The rainfall has raised hopes among farmers that their crops may recover and the immediate pressure caused by water scarcity may ease. Expressing happiness, farmers said the long-awaited rain had come as a blessing. However, the extent of the benefit will depend on the amount of rainfall received and the condition of the crops in the coming days.
