

Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has urged young people, opposition parties and civil society groups to participate in a march to the Supreme Court in Delhi on October 12. He called on people to set aside differences of political affiliation, caste, religion, gender and region and unite in support of democracy and the Constitution. Gandhi also alleged that young protesters were assaulted during recent demonstrations in the national capital.
Leaders of the INDIA bloc are scheduled to march to the Supreme Court on Monday and submit a memorandum to Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant. Their demands include stopping the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, addressing allegations of electoral malpractice and seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
