Following the death of Dr Priyanka in a car collision, opposition parties have called for a shutdown of educational institutions in Rajahmundry, demanding justice for her family and strict punishment for those responsible. YSRCP former MP Margani Bharat Kumar strongly criticised the state government and the police response to the incident. He alleged that instead of taking immediate legal action against the accused, police had been attempting to protect them over the past three days. He also expressed suspicion that influential individuals were behind efforts to dilute the case and shield the accused.
Bharat Kumar further alleged that the government had not provided adequate financial assistance or assurance to the victim’s family. He said the YSRCP would continue its fight until justice was delivered to Priyanka’s family. He formally called for the closure of educational institutions across Rajahmundry and demanded immediate legal action against those responsible. He warned that protests and other programmes would be intensified until the victim’s family receives justice.
