An investigation team has intensified field inspections into large-scale land fraud carried out by exploiting technical loopholes in the Dharani Portal. Authorities have already identified illegal ownership transfers involving over 10,000 acres across multiple districts. Officials are now tracing the key perpetrators and masterminds behind the scam, with several individuals identified in Sangareddy, Siddipet, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, and Jayashankar Bhupalpally. Revenue officials, including Tahsildars, Deputy Tahsildars, and Dharani operators, are being questioned, and notices are being issued where suspicions have strengthened.
Investigations revealed that land ownership was altered even without OTP authentication, bypassing mandatory Aadhaar, biometric, and mobile verification systems. In Nagarkurnool district, an assigned land parcel was illegally transferred without the owner’s knowledge. Similar cases have surfaced in multiple districts, where lands were mutated in others’ names without consent, causing panic among landowners. A multi-departmental probe involving Revenue, Registration, Cybercrime, IT, and NIC is underway to track digital footprints and identify those responsible for manipulating the system.
