Private Travel Bus Catches Fire Near Anantapur, 36 People Safe

A private travel bus operated by Winter City Smart caught fire near the Bharat Petroleum petrol station close to Miduturu village in Peddavaduguru mandal of Anantapur district. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. while the bus was travelling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.

The driver noticed the fire and immediately stopped the bus, preventing a major tragedy. He also attempted to put out the flames, but the fire quickly intensified and the bus was completely gutted within around five minutes. All 33 passengers, along with the driver and three assistants, were safely evacuated. Peddavaduguru police reached the spot and began inspecting the scene.
