Fame India and Asia Post have jointly released a list recognising the top 25 police officers who have demonstrated outstanding performance across the country, with Telugu IPS officers earning a place on the list. Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, SP of Jharsuguda in Odisha, has been named among the Top 25 for his work in anti-Naxal operations, crime control, law and order, technology-driven policing and social initiatives. A 2019 batch Odisha cadre IPS officer from the erstwhile Kadapa district, Raghavendra strengthened intelligence operations while serving as SP of Naupada, a Naxal-affected area. He also coordinated with neighbouring Chhattisgarh to effectively counter Naxal attacks, earning a medal from the Union Home Ministry for his efforts.
Currently serving as Jharsuguda SP, Raghavendra has introduced several policing reforms and strengthened measures to control crime. He launched a smart auto-tracking system that uses QR codes to identify autos and taxis, aimed at improving passenger safety and ensuring greater accountability among drivers. Raghavendra dedicated his recognition among the country’s Top 25 police officers to his fellow officers and personnel. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh CID and Cyber Crime SP Adhiraj Singh Rana was recognised in the Super 5 category. The recognition highlights the contribution of Telugu IPS officers to policing and public safety at the national level.
