Preity Zinta Extends Support to Students

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has expressed solidarity with students protesting over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and extended her support to education activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. In a social media post, she urged the Central Government to begin meaningful discussions with Wangchuk and student representatives at the earliest. She also appealed to Wangchuk to end his fast, stating that his health is as important as the cause he is fighting for.

The ongoing protests gained further attention after reports of police action during a student march near Parliament. Student organisations have demanded a transparent investigation into the alleged NEET irregularities and sought accountability from the authorities. Several members of the film industry, including Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood, Aditi Rao Hydari, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Vir Das, and Tovino Thomas, have also expressed support for the students through public statements and social media.
