Venezuela witnessed one of the strongest earthquakes in its history as a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck the country. It is considered the second largest earthquake recorded in the nation since the 1900 earthquake that measured 7.7 on the Richter scale.
About 40 seconds before the main quake, another earthquake measuring 7.2 magnitude was recorded. Authorities stated that both earthquakes occurred near the epicenter of the devastating 1900 earthquake, raising concerns among residents and disaster management agencies.
