

Police in Kurnool on Wednesday registered a case against YSR Congress Party leader Byreddy Siddharth Reddy after Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister T G Bharath lodged a complaint. Officials stated that the case was filed under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following remarks made by Siddharth Reddy during a YSRCP protest held at the Kurnool Collectorate on May 14.
During the protest meeting, Siddharth Reddy allegedly accused Minister Bharath of accepting a Rs 45 crore bribe from a pharmaceutical company and made several sharp remarks targeting the minister and his family. He also criticised senior leader T G Venkatesh and raised allegations regarding political influence and misuse of power. Minister Bharath approached the police, claiming the comments were defamatory and intended to damage his reputation. He also announced that he would be filing a defamation suit over the issue.
