Polavaram stalled during YS Jagan regime: remarks

Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said that the Polavaram Project will be completed by June 2027 and dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He criticized the previous five-year YS Jagan government, stating that the project had become uncertain and stalled during that period. He said the project, once considered incomplete indefinitely, is now being brought back on track for completion.

Speaking after a meeting with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, he said the state has requested immediate funds for land acquisition and rehabilitation. The government also sought approvals for the Polavaram–Nallamala Sagar project and discussed resolving issues with Telangana through dialogue. Proposals related to minor irrigation projects and pipeline-based water supply were also discussed, while the Union Minister assured full cooperation.
