An emotional moment was witnessed during the swearing-in ceremony of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched the feet of senior leader Makhanlal Sarkar on stage and sought his blessings, drawing attention from attendees. Narendra Modi gesture was widely appreciated.
Makhanlal Sarkar is one of the senior-most BJP leaders and a veteran of the party. He had participated in the 1952 Kashmir movement alongside Syama Prasad Mukherjee and was also jailed during the struggle. Now 98 years old, Makhanlal Sarkar received respect from the Prime Minister, and the emotional moment quickly went viral on social media.
